Eating organic food is a conscious way to protect our physical and psychological health, and also helps to protect our environment.

The principles of organic farming respect nature, which is not forced to produce against its natural rules and seasons. Organic farming does not grow crops out of season, nor does it grow crops where weather and/or soil are unsuitable and compensate with chemicals.

Organic food products are characterized by the exclusive use of natural ingredients and natural processes, so that they are:

  1. tastier, with a lower water content than chemically-assisted produce which uses water-soluble fertilizers.
  2. healthier, free of pesticides, preservatives and additives, and free of GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms).
  3. more nutritious, containing more vitamins and minerals than chemically-farmed produce. Organic food products have high nutritional value, are a good source of energy and they help to boost our immune systems.

organic farming standards

Organic farming in Italy must comply with both European and Italian regulations, including Reg. CEE 209/91 and 1804/99, and DM no.91436/00. Controls uphold standards for organic farming and guarantee the rights of consumers.
